GARDENS OF ZÜRICH. 

I don’t like winter. Winter means it’s the end of the year. It means another year has passed and you didn’t keep your resolutions. It means it’s cold and dark.

I go to work in the morning; it’s dark. I come home in the evening; it’s dark. I spend my days in an office, behind closed windows, in front of a laptop. The closest I get to nature are the birch trees on the red Starbucks cups.

Admitedly, Switzerland looks enchanting in the snow. It never lasts long though and before you know it, the powdery snow has turned into mush.

Winter also brings Christmas. That’s pretty great and the prospect of spending it in England with Lina this year is super exciting.
Of course that’s all still in the future and to brighten my days in the present, I’ve taken to spending my friday afternoons in Zurich’s various tropical greenhouses.

There are quite a few and I’m actually quite amazed that I’ve never been to any of them until now. They are warm and cozy and smell amazing. Pavi has been kind enough to acompany me. I absolutely adore her and it’s just so good to spend an afternoon chatting and enjoying the company of someone so awesome 🙂

Now, without further ado, I will let the pictures talk.

We visited the Stadtgärtnerei first.

Then we went to the (New) Botanical Gardens.

I’m also on a mission to finish all the books I’ve started before 2017 and now I’m currently reading “On the Road” by Jack Kerouac. At the being there’s a quote I love

“[…]the only people for me are the mad ones, the ones who are mad to live, mad to talk, mad to be saved, desirous of everything at the same time, the ones who never yawn or say a commonplace thing, but burn, burn, burn like fabulous yellow roman candles exploding like spiders across the stars and in the middle you see the blue centerlight pop and everybody goes “Awww!”

“Lumos” I think my sister looks like a witch that just cast a wand-lighting-spell 🙂
